New Water bill, etc

January 12th, 2018 at 12:50 am

The last few water bills (billed bi-monthly) have been $112, $110 and $90. Around the time of the $110 bill we had a leaky tub faucet fixed. I figured it would make some difference, but not a huge amount.

Guess I was wrong! Our latest bill - $65! That's about what it was when we first moved in.

Will help make up for the gas bill ....

So ... I've decided to go back to my eating plan I did last January. Essentially eat on target 6 days a week, and then 1 day a week anything goes (within reason.)

Partly this is because my DH is getting more and more unhappy with the meals we can share ... when I told him my decision last night he estatically said - Yay! Little Ceasar's!!

Partly it is because no matter how well or unwell I eat, it seems to have no effect on my energy levels or feeling well/healthy.

Partly I just want to reduce my stress level ... (as evidenced by falling apart in my car after work yesterday when I slammed my fingers in the door ...)

I'm just tired all the time. Feeling blah all the time. No energy. And to top it off, it now seems as though Aunt flo is going to be paying multiple visits per month ... Yay ... 42 .... I think its so unfair for woman who'll never have a child to have to deal with that. At least woman who have a child get something out of the 30+ years of monthly misery.

So .. spending ...
junk at Walgreen's two days in a row - covered by rewards dollars ...

Later tonight ... Little Caesars -~$9

I am so sorry you're feeling blah. January can just be a tough month on its own, so I wonder if that's contributing.

As for Aunt Flo...if you haven't heard of it, maybe ask your doctor about Lysteda (generic is "tranexamic acid"). I used to skip the placebos in my birth control to lessen my period, but after a few years the hormones started getting to me. So my doctor prescribed this stuff and it's great! It really reduces both the pain and the flow.

If you can't do that, my dr. also said ibuprofen is better than other painkillers for periods because it can also slightly reduce the flow as well as the pain.

And, what AS did for hers was an outpatient procedure called "endometrial ablation." It's helped her a lot.

Thanks Ceejay. It's not just January. I've been feeling like this for awhile.

I'll look into Lysteda - I'm guessing it controls timing of Aunt flo? If so .. I'm all for it.

Not the timing, but once she comes to visit you start taking it, and after a day or so if you take it during the whole five days, it's almost like she's not even there. Wink

Ah, ok. I read some about it and the info said it wasn't good for women who's cycle is less than 21 days ... which it appears mine may have become.

If you have started peri-menopause, and you are at the age for it, it can be exhausting. Upping your protein intake can help, as well as making sure you get your B vitamins. I can't remember if you do fish or if you are strictly milk and dairy for your vegetarianism, but if you do eat fish, now would be a good time to up the intake to once daily. Unfortunately, for you I can't recommend beef, which seems to help with the tiredness in a lot of women at this age. How are your iron levels? They can go wonky around peri-menopause.

I mean eggs and dairy, not milk and dairy. I wish the edit feature actually worked.

LR - I actually haven't been eating any dairy since April - til Thursday night's pizza. I'm taking a b12 supplement. My iron levels were checked last month and were fine. I've never eaten fish ...

I know what you mean about the edit feature.

I would fall apart if I had slammed my fingers in the door, food or no food. So sorry!

I think moderation is the key. It sounds like you were being very strict. I know when I decide to limit myself on things I tend to think about them always. Maybe that is just me.

    Rob,

True .. even if I wasn't felling ugh already, probably would've fallen apart.

In a way, being strict is kind of easier for me than having flexibility ... when I have flexibility I tend to go overboard. Like this weekend so far ,... Where being strict is difficult is with my husband and eating together. And seeing no positive results.

I'm sorry you still aren't feeling well. Have you had labs done since you went vegan? I'm guessing they may have improved. Seeing my cholesterol number is always a boost. Smile

    Hi Kashi,

I haven't had a full set done - but my iron level was better and some other things. My resting heart rate was 55!
