Goodwill Score

I've been needing a new pair of jeans for awhile ... ones that aren't about to drop and give a show. Smile

So Thursday I shopped at Aldi's and picked up a pair of large yoga pants - got them home and they fit!!

This gave me the courage to stop at Goodwill today and see if just possibly I could fit into size 14 jeans. The jeans I've been wearing are size 20 ...

I found ONE pair of size 14 jeans and picked out 3 pairs of size 16. I ended up only trying on one pair - the size 14 jeans! They fit!!!!!

Not only did they fit, but they are Gloria Vanderbelt brand - so a pretty good quality brand and in REALLY good shape. ($7!)

I really needed this because the scale isn't showing any real progress lately ....

I'm planning on going to see The Mountain Between Us on Saturday night (moviepass!) Then on Sunday I'm going out with a group of ladies collecting money for a place called Fresh Start here. Should get in a lot of walking!

DH almost bought a Toyota Tacoma yesterday for $4500. He has $3100 in his car fund - said he'd take the balance from his fun money.

I wish we could put more away for the car funds - but taking $1k off the top each month for the ROTH's really spreads the rest thin.

There's so many things to save for. So many places for money to go. It sometimes seems as though there's never enough. Sigh.

Our bathtub faucet has been leaking since we moved in, but has gotten worse the past few months. DH had a plumber come out on Thursday and replaced the 30+ year old knob. Problem solved! $114 - and hopefully our water bill will be reduced ...

    The smaller size really lifts the spirits, doesn't it! Congrats on your progress. I know what you mean about the $$$. Especially when your home seems to suck it all up.

    Great deal on the jeans 👖. It's been years since I've been to a Goodwill.
    On the truck, did hubby try talking the seller down? Sometimes with cash on hand they'll reduce the pry

    PS - Yes - $13 for full length pants with a zippered pocket for keys. Smile They have a bunch of exercise equipment too.

    Amber - he didn't bother trying - a few minutes into his test drive the check engine light came on, then started flashing. So he left without the truck.

    CB - I was about 30lbs heavier than I am now when I was out in Chicago. Smile
