"Barbeque" etc

January 24th, 2017 at 01:37 am

These ads are really annoying.

Last night I made "Barbeque" for dinner using soy curls. My DH, mostly a carnivore, gave it a thumbs up. We also had beans and Brussels sprouts - all made in the InstantPot.

----
DH's car is having break issues, so I came home from work and walked outside instead of going to the gym so he could use my car. My phone didn't die until I got home and took it out of my pocket to end my walk. It was cold, but I got home before it was dark.

He has an appointment on Wednesday. That cheap car isn't so cheap - plus its annoying having to change my plans so often. Ugh!

__
I made whole wheat spaghetti tonight for dinner so I could use up the sauce. There's enough for dinner tomorrow, unless DH eats it not realizing its whole wheat. Smile

---
It was so nice today not having to take pictures of my food for Pact. I may continue the workout and myfitnesspal pacts, but I think I'm done with the veggie pact. (Although that's the one that makes the most money ....)

    Thanks Ceejay.

    *soak beans overnight
*cut up an onion and mince some garlic - sautee in IP in a smidge of olive oil and veggie broth
*Add the rest of the veggie broth to IP
*Add a healthy dose of turmeric, paprika, oregano, etc *tiny bit of salt
    *drain and rinse beans
    *add beans to IP
*Put the lid on and make sure it's not venting
*put IP on manual for 25 minutes and go take a nap. Smile I just kind of made up this recipe - is Great Northern Beans. DH eats seconds - which means he actually likes them.

Awesome! I'm gonna try this (altered for stovetop cooking).

Looks good to me! I've never tried soy-curls. Are they sort of like noodles?

    Me too VS!

Awesome Ceejay. Hope you like them. Smile
Fern - kinda? You have to re-hydrate them before cooking. It's a fairly unprocessed soy bean.

I'm with fern...I have never tried soy curls.

I only learned about them after getting the InstantPot and joining a vegan IP FB group. This is my second bag. I bought from Amazon

Oh, which vegan FB group do you belong to? I belong to two; maybe we're on the same ones and don't even know it. Smile One is Dr. Greger's group and the other is Earth-Friendly Food Choices.

    Thanks Amber

Fern - no, the group I'm talking about is InstantPot Vegan recipes. I may be in Dr Gregor's group though. Will have to check out the other one.
