Oy Vey!

August 21st, 2016 at 03:09 am

Well, I guess it's a good thing we bought the extra warranty for DH's Garmin.

He called me tonight to see if I had registered the Chromebook and Garmin yet ... I hadn't. Oops.

He apparently had a bottle of Windex on his car seat??? that wasn't tightly closed. It spilled onto the Garmin, and has rendered it useless.

The Garmin that is not even a month old.

So, they are both now registered and a file has been claimed. It is now up to DH to get it mailed in.

I personally will be shocked if they will replace it. Guess it's a good thing DH hasn't spent is fun money yet this month.

In other news ...

I realized as I was doing my budgeting tonight, that I hadn't scheduled the next mortgage payment. I went to the website to schedule it, but I couldn't do it! I could however schedule an autodraft for 9/1/16.

I decided to do that (so I don't have to worry about spacing the payment.) Then I realized that I had money budgeted in August for the mortgage and the extra payment which actually won't be needed now til september (I paid the first payment in June that was due July 1.)

So that gave me some money to play with a little bit. Smile I put most of it in the car maintenance category, because that one took a hit this month and there's more to come. I also added to our fun money and a few other categories.

I love getting extra money in play just by having been farther ahead on a bill than I realized! Big Grin
I've got almost all our bills on autopay now: mortgage, utilities, electricity, gas, carshare, cellphones, AS's healthcare and dental premiums. The only things that aren't are the credit card payments. Since those are so variable and I like to be on top of the charges, there being several autocharge kind of things connected to them, as well as the rewards, I manually set the payment up each month. It also lets me decide whether I'm going to pay the minimum or full balance (typically it's the full balance, though I do at times take advantage of a 0% rate if we have big expenses we want to cashflow). Is your mortgage on recurring autopay now or was it just for this month?

I have almost all my bills on autopay, including credit cards. Smile Until now, the mortgage wasn't on autopay. They let you add the extra payment amount to the autopay. Smile September will be a 3 paycheck month, so I'll have to find my 20 year calculations to see what the extra should be.

Wow, sorry about the Garmin. Hope they do replace it.

Nice on the extra money to work with!

DH must be so upset having ruined his Garmin. Is there any chance they'll replace nearly new in the box?

Sorry to be off topic but I'm really a novice with vegetarian meals that DH will eat. Successful with soup and stews if there are good buns to accompany. Added macaroni & cauliflower earlier this year without mentioning the cauliflower and he thought it would be so much better with a few rashers of bacon. arrgh

Do you make entrees like eggplant or zucchini lasagna?

I really appreciate you photos of meals, wish you'd continue.

Me too Rob! (Yep, the extra money will be nice.)

Snafu - yeah, he wasn't too happy. It'll make his job more difficult until it's replaced.

I have made eggplant parmesean, but not lasagna.

Check out my latest post for a food pic. Smile
