Not Going to Panic

February 6th, 2011 at 05:44 am

So the other day ex SD/landlord tells me I need to be sure I either have a job lined up by May when I graduate, or a new place to live. His new sweetheart is threatened by me and Buddy (he's been dating her since mid December. ) Fine, I understood that and heck, that's my goal!

Move to tonight. He gets home and tells me that he's putting the house on the market. So ... Depending on how fast/long it takes, I may be searching for new living quarters well before May.

Just what I need. Not.

I knew this situation was too good to last. I really don't know what I'm going to do. I have a possibility of a room near my church - but all my tutoring is over here.

This also means one to two changes of address this year. I was hoping to only move once - to wherever my new job is.

Ugh and ugh.

No, don't panic, Laura. Who knows when the house will sell? Not worth stressing out or raising your anxiety level because there are still too many unknowns.

May is not that far off, and hopefully you will have a good job lined up by then, and you can find your very own place to live...and you may still only have to move once.

I'm hoping that it will all work out.

I agree. May is only a few months away, and in this market it's very unlikely the house will sell that fast.

Well, foo! I wish that would not happen to you.

Uncertainty is stressful, but don't panic. Even if someone makes a firm offer today, escrow likely wouldn't close until April at the very earliest! Once an offer is made, you will have plenty of time to decide your best course of action.

Thanks everyone. I'll try not to worry too much till an actual buyer comes around. It's just so frustrating. I never thought I was a control freak, but the last few years with so little under my control, may have made a little bit of one. Frown

I agree with everyone. Don't stress about the house selling very quickly. And even if it sells you'll still have at least a 30 day escrow. So it's not as if it sells one day and you have 48 hours to move out. Now THAT would be stressful!! Big Grin
