So ... we are putting in an offer on a house tonight!

It's a FSBO but we are having our agent do the legwork. It's in L town - towards the NE part. I'd be able to catch a bus two blocks away to get to work.

It's an awesome house! Our offer is at the topmost max of our comfort level, but we are competing with at least one other offer ...

There weren't ANY photos posted online, so we went in only knowing what was listed on zillow about the house.

The sellers are an older couple, probably in their late 70s. Sweet people who love their house, but just can't keep up with the upkeep anymore.

Our agent had me write up a bio on Mr FT and I to kind of personalize the offer. I made sure to touch on how much we love the house, and how we can see ourselves making new memories with our new family unit there - that we'd love and care for the house.

We'll know one way or the other by tomorrow morning.

And what is the house like??
While buying was a long, hard road and scary as heck to sign all the papers it is one of the best things I have done!

Laura alter the description. To much word for word and people can google it. I found that out the hard way when someone from my past showed up at the house i bought.

You're right Kiki, I was being lazy.

It's got two bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs. A eat in kitchen and an add on living room with a fireplace. The basement has a workshop, a rec room, a kitchen, a bathroom and a bedroom. The house sits on nearly 1/3rd of an acre. There's a garden area. Tool shed. Back deck with an awning that rolls up when not in use, etc. it comes with lots of appliances.

They are replacing the roof this week. It's about 1300 sq ft. The layout is pretty well designed overall.

Forgot - also has a two car garage.

I am excited too and I am keeping my fingers crossed for you. I think writing of a discription of yourself and why you would love the house is a very good idea. I once had a piano that my mother bought for me. I sold it to the couple that acted like they loved it, rather than to the couple that offered me the most money

Wonderful to have found a house that you plan to offer to buy. We're all excited about this new step, wanting it to go well in your favor. Your agent seems 'on it' writing a bio to accompany your offer can be a tipping point since there is other interest. Have you checked out a qualified home inspector? There are several steps and so much paperwork!

Thanks everyone! Our agent called me last night after meeting with the sellers. They're waiting for the response to a counteroffer they made to the other prospective buyers, so we won't know until about 3 p.m. today if our offer is accepted or not.

    SO excited!

What's the price? Did they go with the other offer?
