Updates

So it was brought to my attention that I haven't posted here for a while. Smile Oops.

I had a much longer post typed up, then firefox crashed on me ... so ....

*Still losing weight (*slowly*)

*Still doing the whole foods plant based / limited oil, salt, refined sugar lifestyle
(not 100%, but close to it.)

*Had to have a ring guard put in my wedding / engagement ring last week so I wouldn't lose it -
lost two ring sizes!

*Will be getting my retroactive pay on Oct 12 for the year our contract was in limbo. I'm estimating it
to be around $800 - 1000 depending on how the overtime works out.

*Been dealing a lot with sick kitties the past month. Antibiotic shots, steroid shots, antihisimine pills ... Fun $$$
It does look as though we might be on the other end of it now though.

* Fence guy has completely abandoned us and his tools. DH sent him a text over 3 weeks ago telling him that when he comes
by to pick up his tools, to please bring us cash for the difference between what we paid him already, and
what has actually been purchased/man hours worked. Zip. Silence. Guess we have some extra tools now.

I signed up for MoviePass and used it twice this month. I would have used it more, but there weren't any movies I wanted to
see last week, and this week the ones I want to see are only at the downtown theater. So .. maybe on Monday after work.

(I saw Wind River and Home Again - liked both of them.)

Ok, I can't really think of anything else right now. I'll try to not let so much time go between posts. Smile

Rescued Baby Squirell! etc

September 3rd, 2017 at 10:54 pm

This morning while out on my walk, I came across a baby squirrel sitting by the curb on the street. It was trembling from fear I think. I wasn't sure what to do, but I couldn't just leave it. So for about 20 minutes I stood there and made sure cars knew where it was. (It went out in the middle of the street at some point.)

Finally I thought of the Wildlife rescue place my DH has taken animals to in the past. I called and was advised to find an empty box to put it in, and leave it under the tree where I suspected it came from - then leave the area for an hour.

A man was washing his car across the street, so I asked him for a box. Then I picked up the baby and put it in the box. I stayed at a distance for about ten minutes to make sure the baby didn't escape, then reluctantly did another 30 minutes of walking.

The baby was still in the box.

I called Wildlife Rescue again and was told they'd get in touch with the volunteer and call me back. 20 minutes later with no call, I picked up the box and went home.

The cats were curious, but I kept the box in my sight.

2 hours later and still no call. I called again and was told the wrong volunteer had been alerted. Um .. ok. Ten minutes later I got a call with an address where to take it.

It was right around the corner from my late SIL's house! So after dropping off the baby squirrel in a kennel, I stopped by and picked up more of SIL's mail.

We are still waiting on the Railroad to see if she has any money coming. Then we'll know if we have to contact her creditors with a SOL letter, or decide who gets paid until the money's gone.

We're going to Golden Corral tonight - DH wants the prime rib. I bought a groupon - $17 for two people. I can find lots of fruit and veggies ...

---
I signed up for MoviePass - $10/month and see one movie per day at the theater. There's times I want to see a movie, but unless I want to pay $10, I'm limited to Tuesdays. So once my card actually gets here, I'll see how much I use it. I figure 2 movies a month would pay for it.

August Snowflakes

$100 - Swagbucks
$50 - Koinme
$25 Perk

I didn't cash out on anything else because I'm trying to wait til it gets cheaper.

Also got my cost of living raise and 5 hours of overtime.

Sunny is still sick. I took her to the vet yesterday - antibiotic shot and steroid shot ... $96.

I also took Kari to the vet last week - she hurt her leg somehow. Another $90 for the visit plus pain meds.

My brother's band is recording an album right now! I need to set aside some money to buy it. Smile
