CU update, etc.

October 3rd, 2015 at 12:32 am

On Wednesday I mentioned that my CU paying 2.5% interest only credited me with $.44.

I sent them an email trying to understand why I didn't get the 2.5%. I thought I had more than qualified.

Yesterday afternoon I got an email from them telling me why I hadn't qualified. The reason they gave was that I only had 11 transactions instead of 12.

That did not make sense to me, so I called them on my break. I found out that customer service had credited me with the 2.5% as a courtesy. And the reason my 12th transaction didn't count was because it hadn't completed before the 30th.

Needless to say, I will be much more careful about making sure I have my 12 transaction in well before the 31st this month!

I've had a rough few days at work this week. All of us have really. As I was leaving today I asked two of the people I work with if they'd felt like it had been an extra long week too, and they agreed it had been.

4 hours or less sleep 2 nights in a row also sure hasn't helped.

So .. I stopped at BK for dinner tonight. $6.89. Definitely not part of my meal plan, but works within my $20/week spending budget. (Groceries on Monday - $12.xx, and then BK today.)

I am really hoping to get caught up on sleep this weekend.

I've heard about rewards checking being pretty picky about transactions. I would suggest as you have deduced to have your transactions happen early in the month. I'm glad you still got the courtesy of the interest!

What on earth do you eat at Burger King as a vegetarian? I'm not trying to be disrespectful, just curious. Because all I can think of is fries and onion rings. We did DQ tonight, ourselves, but you know, burgers.

    Thanks CCF - me too!

LR - Good question Smile BK has a gardenburger veggie burger whopper. Yummy! I also got a shake and fries (though I ordered onion rings - didn't realize the mistake til I got home. Frown )

Actually a veggie whopper sounds pretty good. Yes?
    Get some sleep, Laura!

I worked at Burger King for 3 years back in the 80s. Customers who were vegetarians would order a "veggie Whopper". Nowadays, that may be an actual patty made from tofu or veggies. Back then, it was simply a Whopper with no meat patty.

One day, I tried one just to see if it was any good. It was delicious!

Petunia - Yep, you can order a Veggie Whopper or a Vegge Burger. The first comes with no patty, and the other obviously has one. Smile I agree, it is pretty good! Smile

MEC - Thanks! I didn't get much more sleep during the actual night, but ended up taking some Nyquil and going back to bed about an hour later ... sweet 3 more hours of sleep!
