3 Paycheck Months and Etc

January 10th, 2015 at 12:06 am

In the YNAB forums someone mentioned that if you get paid bi-weekly on a thursday or Friday that there are THREE months this year with 3 paychecks.

How awesome is that???

I got my $25 PayPal from Swagbucks today.

I also sold an item on eBay for $16 during the night - printed out the shipping label before going to work and mailed it off. Big Grin

---
I got my gas bill for December - 36.97. That is down from 42.83 for November. So ... turning down the thermostat from 67 to 64 saved me ... ~$6?

Although my electric bill went up nearly $8 .. mostly I think due to the electric heater.

So ... I'm kind of wondering if using the space heater is all that more efficient than using my gas furnace at 67. Kari loves the space heater, but overall I'm not sure how much it really helps to heat the room.

I got the bill for my doctor's appointment on Dec 15. ALL I'm being charged is the $25 copay. I'm not having to pay anything for the bloodwork!

Ummm... I think I'm going to like this insurance plan.

Space heaters are notorious for being energy hogs. I think your furnace is likely more efficient.

I will make sure we meet up at some point! I'm going to be there in two weeks since she is auditioning for the music program. We don't know what time yet.

It depends on the size you are heating. When i use a space heater to beat only heat half my apartment (living room/dining room kitchen) versus the heating the entire apartment with the apartment heater it is much more expensive. I tend to use an electric lap blanket and heater and keep doors to room not used closed.

I meant my space heater is cheaper when only heating half the apartment.

Yes on the paydays. My husband's check last week did not have insurance premiums taken out because there is an extra paycheck this year. That was nice!

Yep the space heater does raise the electric bill. I run mine constantly to heat my computer room, because there's no central heat (which is gas) vent in here and most of that seeps out through the single pane windows anyway. *sigh* gotta love renting.

In my experience a small electric heater (to heat a very small area) is way more expensive than using central heat. So I am not surprised by the outcome. But I could see kitty being way more happy with the space heater!

Glad the insurance is helping out!
