Miami, Chicago and San Diego + job stuff

July 8th, 2014 at 09:20 pm

If anyone here lives in the three cities I put in the title and might be interested in completing a secret shopping project in your area, you'd really help me out by leaving a comment here with your first name - and if you use a different email for SA, then the email you'd use for work related stuff. You do need a smartphone so you can download the secret shopper app. This project pays between $100 and $140.

Thanks for helping me out if you're interested. Smile

I had my second interview today for the admin asst job, and then also had a personality assessment. Rolleyes I asked when they plan to make a decision .... AUGUST!!! This position has been advertised for at least a month! Seriously, if people need a job, they aren't looking for one to maybe start two months later.

I gave the staffing agency another call today to keep my name fresh. Something has to give here soon.

Last night at the call center I was asked to work the next two Sundays - I jumped at the chance. That just means 28 hours for the next two weeks instead of 24. I'll take it though, especially considering that a full time job seems to be taking it's sweet ol' time coming along!!

I'm almost halfway to my next redemption on Bubblews. It's going much much faster this round. Big Grin

I'm having trouble depositing my final paycheck from the school and the first check from the call center. I tried using my phone apps for both Cap One and Bofa, but neither one would accept them. They are way too long for a good picture. I checked to see if there are any ATMs here for either bank ... Nope. I'm really not sure how else to deposit the checks, other than opening yet another bank account. I really don't want to do that. Would love ideas! (This is going to be an ongoing problem with the call center checks. Previously I had my school checks direct deposited, but for whatever reason they give a paper one for the last one.)

Do you have a scanner, that could take a picture of the entire check? Or can you inquire with BoA or CapOne about a mailing address to send to deposit in, even better pre addressed envelopes that may have postage paid. We used to have to mail ours to USAA before all the newer technology.

You might want to change banks now that you are in NE, those banks will not have local branches anywhere in the state I'm pretty sure. Wells Fargo might be another national option.

Thanks CCF, those are good ideas. I suppose I just need to call Cap One customer service and see what I can do. I do have a scanner, but I don't have the cables for it ... letting other people pack for you ....

I too would call and ask for the mailing address for deposits. I always mailed deposits before all this scanning and smart phone technology.

I'm interested, though I will be out of town Friday-Monday. Is there a specific time it has to be done?

I don't want to post my email address, though. Can you comment and I'll reply to that via email?

CB I don't think there is a time limit like that. I'll reply on your blog when I get home tonight.

I was thinking mail too.. but there is a time issue with that.. Probably opening a new account with a local bank would be the best long term solution.

I mail things to deposit into another bank all the time and have never had a problem.

I am in the same boat, kind of. I lost my 25+ year job thanks to my boss being either an @$$hat or a cheap@$$. :/ I interviewed for one job on 6/9, had 2nd interview 6/25 and have a "test" next week. @@ Another job I interviewed for on 6/17, had a 2nd interview on 6/25 (yes I had two separate ones on that date) and the owner is still in the process of interviewing other people. @@ This is such B S! They can keep me hanging but IF I were to do that to them....

Thanks everyone. I think I will just try to open an account here, asmuch as I hate to. Be simplest in the long run.

ILAT - Ugh! That stinks! II hope both of our luck changes really soon!

Thanks, Laura. I hope so for both of us as well.

How I wish I'm living in those three cities! Smile I used to work as a call center too before and it was totally an awesome yet tiring job because I was a night shift.

I opened an account at a local credit union on Thursday - easy peasy. Got a free travel mug. Smile
---@Marie - It's tiring alright. Can't say it's awesome though. It would help if the quotas they give were at all possible to actually meet. In 3 weeks I have not met one quota. Not for lack of trying either.
