Craigslist annoyance!

July 8th, 2008 at 02:31 am

Like I mentioned in a previous post, I listed a number of items on Craigslist this weekend.

One t.v. already sold - Yay!

But what is getting really annoying is the Spanish language materials. First, I had posted an ad with the Computer CD Roms + the various books/dictionaries in the Computer/Tech section.

I got flagged and deleted.

So, I went to the help forum and was told that I needed to separate the computer stuff from the books. Ugh! So, I did that, then reposted the computer part of it in the computer section, and posted the book part in the book section.

The computer part was flagged/deleted!!

I'm about ready to say forget about it!

Today I went to CVS and used my ECB's to buy cereal. They had Shredded Wheat 2 for 1 ($4.29), so with my $2.50 ECB, it came to $1.79 for two boxes of cereal. Not too shabby.

I also filled up my car. A bit less than 10 gallons for $38.97.

----

I checked on the progress of my rebate from AT&T for the phone I bought in the beginning of June. The rebate has been approved and should be arriving "SOON".

As for the rebate I'm owed from the company who handles our company's insurance policies (thanks to my salary being reported incorrectly) I am STILL waiting to see that money. If it isn't here by Thursday, I will be calling them again to find out what is taking so long.

---

I have my 19" TV/VCR listed for free on Craigslist. I've listed it before on freecycle as well . . but no takers. I really need to go by the tv repair shop and ask them if they'd take it. Part of me hates to part with it, since it was a Christmas/birthday gift from my family back in 96, but it doesn't work (I imagine it'd easily be fixed though) and I have another t.v. that fits my entertainment center perfectly. I don't need more than one t.v.!

Try your local Gumtree website. I have always found it to be a much easier site deal with and to get quick sales.

Never heard of gumtree. I will have to check it out.

Some people have nothing better to do than sit around on their fat a** flagging someone elses posts on Craigslist.
Check to see if your local tv stations website offers free classifieds. We have several stations that offer it in the SW.

LOL Nic! You may be right. Smile
I'll look into whatever free classifieds I can find around here as well.

So you can advertise prostitutes on CL, but not computers? LOL.

    MM,

I am just guffawing! Getting some strange looks from my co-workers.

I can't believe all the trouble you have had! Ugh! Yes, you do not need to keep a broken tv. Check with your city and see if they any programs where they take broken electronics. Sometimes they do.

    Thanks Boo,

If nobody takes me up on the t.v. I will check and see if there are any city programs for broken tv's. It really is probably a very easy and inexpensive fix to get it working again, it's just not worth it for me to go about seeing if it *can* be fixed since I have another working t.v.

Yes, CL can get so annoying! I'm trying to sell a car stereo but it keeps getting flagged no matter what category I put it in. I give up.

    dmontgrey,

Have you tried the help forum? It sure would be nice if they'd let you know exactly what flags were put on your post before it was deleted, instead of making you guess or ask others to guess for you (on the help forum).

I really despise craigs list that much that I don't care to go in the help forum, unfortunately. Hey, at least I was successful in selling my Bentley manual today. $65+ anywhere online and I sold it for $40 - a steal! Hope the guy gets some use out of it. I'll try again on the car stereo at some point. I'm sure there will be a day the flaggers are busier in the pet classifieds!

    dmontngrey,

    Congrats on your sale!
