Etc

A few days ago I was checking my credit cards and noticed a $41 charge for Planet Fitness. Oops! Had it really been a year since I changed my plan?

I called on Thursday to find out if I could get the fee refunded after canceling. Nope. And to cancel I'd have to go into a location.

So, I did that today. I hadn't been there since sometime in April. I told myself I'd go back when the weather got bad again, but then they were doing road construction which made it a pain to get to ... and I just got out of the habit.

Right now I'm focusing more on getting habits going on taking care of the housework, and fitness throughout the day - so taking 1 1/2 - 2 hours (between commute time and actual workout) to go there ... not worth it at this time.

---
I stopped at Dollar Tree and picked up some groceries - some for me, some DH had requested. $24

Then I stopped at HyVee and got .6 lb of Brazil nuts - $7.29 (should last for several months - we eat 2 - 4 each week for heart health.)

I made a bit of a mess getting them - the bin just opened up a bit faster than I was ready for - nuts went all over the floor. Oops. I swept it up as much as I could with my foot, then got a store worker.

Tomorrow I need to get toilet paper and some other groceries.

---
I'm still doing fairly well with bujo. It's helping me be accountable even with I'm so tired all I want to do is lounge. I haven't done any of my bi-weekly tasks yet ... but it hasn't been two weeks yet!

I need to find a source for good suggested memory texts. I have Is 40:31 memorized, but need a new one for my memory work task. I'm wanting ones which help me stay in a positive frame of mind (since sometimes that is very hard lately to do.)

But couldn't you tell the credit card company you want to dispute the charge/not pay it? Not sure if that would work, but I think it's pretty lousy they wouldn't refund you the money the day after they charged you.

The days are getting longer and I hope that helps. Do you nw drive in daylight? Don't know quite how to mention, if you are unable to get the refund you want from from Planet Fitness, would you be willing to add PF to your BUJO, dailies, at a more convenient location? The positive endomorphs from any of the activity is good for your health and worth the effort. The sociability and knowing you are taking action for your personal gain is worth points too.

We are totally buried in snow, negative 23, as low as negative 33 at night, some major roads get closed periodically and if your enroute, you're trapped. Yesterday AM we set a record, 200 cars in one mash up when river fog unexpectedly rolled up and lowered visibility to less than one car length.

PS - Hmm.. maybe they would. The charge came through on the 5th but I didn't see it till the 6th. Yesterday was the first day I had a chance to go there.

Snafu - Yes, thankfully with the days getting longer again, both am and pm commutes are in daylight.

There are only two locations - both about a 15 - 20 minute drive on a good traffic day. So, once you add in time to change and the workout itself, it's at least 90 - 120 minutes. Whereas if I just get home, it might be 70 - 90 minutes (changing time).

We have around 5 inches or so built up here. I had to walk through it on our driveway to go to church this morning in my heels ... We have enough winter here for my tastes. Smile

What a great, interesting question about positive things to memorize! I used to memorize poems for fun as a kid/teen, but none of the ones I know are inspirational...

I did some Google searches and came up with two happy poems: Invitation to Love
    By Paul Laurence Dunbar
    and
Hope Is The Thing With Feathers
    By Emily Dickinson

Thanks Ceejay - I wasn't really thinking of poems, but I really like the ED poem - might just add that in. Smile

Just for grins, I searched for Bible verses for positive outlooks and this site had some good ones that might work for your memorization: http://smartandrelentless.com/20-bible-verses-about-positive-thinking/

When I was growing up, I went to a Lutheran school K-8 and we had daily memory work. Your blog just brought that back in mind. I probably need to work on memorizing a few too.

Thanks Rob - those look good. I went to a parochial school 1 - 16, and from 1 - 8 we had a memory verse each week, plus a memory verse for our weekly Sabbath School lesson.

I STILL remember my 4th grade poem memorization. If anyone wants to hear "Stopping by the Woods On a Snowy Evening" or "September" from Helen Hunt Jackson, you know who to call. I've committed some Yeats to memory and a few other various poems.
