Sick Kitty

August 12th, 2017 at 08:49 pm

Thursday night after giving our furkids their 2x weekly wet food meal, our Sunny girl lost her meal .. w/blood too.

Today at noon was the first appointment I could get. She didn't throw up any more (that I could see) so the vet didn't think it was something to worry about. However, he did notice an upper respiratory infection - and gave me some meds for that.

Sunny has been curled up on my lap sleeping since then.

The vet visit cost $67

I got 4 hours of overtime this week. I won't know until Tuesday if the new payrate is in effect yet or not.

Next Sunday I'm working the Big R Welcome for local uni students. That'll sure be fun. Smile

---
Thursday night we ordered takeout for the first time in a long time. A local Chinese place that had 4 options with no salt/sugar/oil/msg!! I was amazed. I got steamed veggies with tofu, then made brown rice for myself.

They accidentally made my order "homestyle" with an unknown sauce. DH noticed this, and got them to remake my dish - we got to keep both. DH ate the homestyle - yay! he ate veggies! - and said he'd get it again (liked the sauce on the broccoli)

---
I finished the last episode of Downton Abbey yesterday. Frown Somehow I hadn't seen season 5 or 6 till this month.

---
Our fence guy is STILL stalling. He's put in maybe 10 hours worth of work so far. Supposedly our supplies will be coming Monday. We're not holding our breath.

Hope Sunny gets better. I was very sad when I saw the last episode of Downton Abbey, too. Nothing has really replaced it for me!

Hope kitty has been incident free since the vet treatment.

If DH has opened a door a sliver on eating vegetables in a sauce he likes, would you meet with added success buying sauce only from that Chinese take-out? Many of their sauces are easily replicated with off the shelf oyster sauce or Hoisin sauce base [full of stuff not your favorite]. The plus side is the tiny quantities per serving. I wish there was an opportunity to outline my recent experience with 8 hours of open heart surgery and the ghastly, painful recovery process.

I'd ask him to imagine, being sliced from just below his collar bone to 4 fingers above his navel where several large drains do their jobs until they are yanked out. Ribs broken, all innards were moved and they painfully object to their temporarily displacement! The worse moment was the point when the wires were yanked from the heart. It was like what I imagine death by electric chair would feel. There are a few seconds of 'frizzle, ' you smell it. Hospital recovery has you move through 3-4 'stations.' There is barely a moment when they are not doing some nasty procedure. You must walk the corridors several times a day and be able to walk up and down a major staircase or they won't let you go home!

Would DH accept a 'sell by' date on the items he promised to sell when moving into your house?

Thanks ladies. She'd get better faster if I could get the meds in her. I tried mixing it in wet food last night - she lost it. I tried putting it on her dry food - she wouldn't eat it, so I put a little almond milk .. she ate some, but not much.

    Snafu -
Yikes! that doesn't sound any fun at all. If I could figure out the sauce, then definitely I'd get it for him - so he'd up his veggie intake!
