If you enjoyed him, why not keep him on as a friend? My 30-year-old daughter has met a few guys on such a site that she has stayed friends with and incorporated into her social circle. Just a bit of motherly advice for you! Happy 2010. Typing with your thumb huh, you mean a laptop?? Ugh I know what you mean. I use an ergometric keyboard so even normal keyboards drive me nuts.

    I would write him back.

    Homebody,

I did enjoy him, and would love to have him back in my life again as a friend. However, I don't know if there is a point to trying when he might just abruptly stop writing again like last time. If he'd even written me a short note saying why he needed to stop, then I think I'd feel better about starting up again - not quite so jerked around.

About the thumb typing ... I'm on my phone right now, so am using the phone keyboard to write. I'm getting faster on it using just my thumb and forefinger, but nowhere as fast as with two hands. Smile plus I can't edit very easily on the phone.

Thanks Ima. That is probably what I'll end up doing.

Emm a weird one... it's difficult to say why he abruptly cuts off contact.

Maybe he loves the thrill of the chase and once he "has" you so to speak, he loses interest like a cat who catches the ball of string and moves on to the next person.

Taking a break and contacting you again (particularly after an argument) could be a new kind of chase for him - I don't know. I may be ENTIRELY WRONG. Just a thought.

I would be wary of friendships where one person has romantic attraction to the other - a lot of times, the person with the romantic hope just falls deeper for the other person and just ends up getting hurt.

I would question his motives in contacting you if he is currently in a relationship with someone else (has he gotten bored with them now that the chase is over ??).

Also, I think a big part of why this email has affected you is that subconsciously you find him more attractive now that he has a girlfriend. It's a Darwinion Genetic Survival of the Species thing. Men surrounded by women are always (mostly) more attractive to single women because of a thing called Pre-selection i.e. If another female has chosen him as a mate, he must have a lot going for him.

Hope that helps... It probably doesn't tho. Sorry ! :-)
