Possible job??

October 22nd, 2009 at 11:51 pm

This morning the woman who works out at the gym every morning told me that there is a receptionist job open at her company. She said I could use her as a reference. We talk a lot and are sort of Quasi friends.

Although being a receptionist doesn't excite me, having health insurance again and more income defintely does!

If I were to get this, I'd probably have to slow down on school - maybe take an extra semester or two. But if I'm making enough to live on, go to school, AND save .... I think the extra time would be ok.

Tonight I need to get my resume polished and put together a cover letter. Then tomorrow I'll stop at the library, print them out, and fax them in. (she told me to fax it. )

So if it works out, then sometime next year I'll have insurance again!

I've kind of gotten spoiled though, only working 4 days a week and pretty much having nothing to do at work. It sounds like the phones are pretty busy, and there might be some typing letters Smile and other projects to keep a person busy. Their current person is being promoted in the company.

Good luck! I thought of you today when I was at the Christian bookstore and saw a DVD about Mandie and the Secret Tunnel - I'm not sure if you reveiwed it on your other blog or not, but I think you did. I picked it up for my DD2 who is turning 11 in December.

I had to add - slowing down is not the worst thing. Our school districts are laying off all the librarians, etc. Take your time - and graduate when they are all re-hiring again. Big Grin

    Thanks Debtfreeme!

Thanks CCF! Yep, insurance is always a good thing to have. Smile
    Momcents,

Yep, I have reviewed the book on my blog. Even friended "Mandie" on Facebook. Big Grin
    Monkeymama,

You may be right about that - it may be better to be looking for a librarian job in 2 1/2 - 3 years from now, rather than less than two... And as long as I have a job with good health insurance, and more than likely much better pay than the gym ... well...

Oh I forgot to mention -- the company is in the same building I work in now (gym) so I more than likely could continue to "open" the gym perhaps 3 days a week and get in 6 hours or so a week there - which also would mean I could keep a free membership there, and do my workouts in the morning before my other job. Big Grin
